New Delhi: The second wave of corona infection in the country is now receding. The day-to-day threat seems to be decreasing. Meanwhile, the Union Health Ministry said that 1,14,818 new corona cases have been registered in the country in the last 24 hours, the lowest in 59 days. At the same time, active cases of corona are also continuously declining in the country. After the last 52 days, the active cases have come down to less than 15 lakh last Saturday. In addition, less than 2 lakh cases are now being registered in the country in 10 consecutive days.

On may 8, the Union Health Ministry said that there were more than 37.8 lakh active cases in the country but now they have come down by 40 per cent. Now, in Maharashtra, a total of 441 patients died in this State, the lowest level since April 22. In Tamil Nadu, 21,410 corona cases were reported and 443 people died, the highest ever recorded number of deaths along with the newest cases.
