Punjab has become the leading state in the country with a 78% recovery rate of patients between lockdown and corona infection. In a press statement issued on Tuesday, Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu said that the Punjab government is fully prepared to compete against Corona and 1,57,13,789 persons were investigated by the Health Department teams in April. Of these, 9,593 individuals were found to have corona symptoms, which were referred for further management and sampling.

Government did such work with regard to medical fees

In his statement, he said that so far 1980 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in the state and 52,955 persons have been investigated out of which 48,813 persons have reported negative. He said that out of 1980 patients of Covid-19, 1557 patients have been cured, which is the highest recovery rate of patients in the country.

In addition, Balbir Sidhu further said, 'Risk Stratified Random Sampling' is needed across the state and focus will be on high risk areas and individuals to prevent the spread of corona. Instructions have been issued to civil surgeons in this regard. Regarding the Containment Zone, he said that the State Government has only given a definition of Containment Zone and now there is no red, orange or green zone.
