Islamabad: Four-year-old absconding Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif's son Suleman returned to Pakistan on Sunday after being accused of corruption. Since the year 2018, Suleman was living in London with his family. Before the general elections, the National Accountability Bureau had registered several cases against him. He absconded to London only after appearing in a few hearings.
The court had asked him to surrender before 13 December. The Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) (PMLN) tweeted a video of Suleman returning home on its official Twitter account. It can be seen that he is hugging his father after meeting him. Special Assistant to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Ataullah Tarar also shared the same video. Before Sulaiman's return, he had said that he had left Pakistan due to security reasons. He said that fake cases were registered against Suleman. All this was done because of political differences. The FIA registered a case against Shehbaz Sharif's sons Hamza and Suleman in 2020 under various sections. He was accused of money laundering. An arrest warrant was issued against Suleman, but the court was informed by the FIA that Suleman was not present in the country, so he could not be arrested.
After this, a trial court also declared Suleman an absconder. He was accused of money laundering of 16 billion rupees along with others. The FIA report said that 28 unnamed properties of the Shehbaz family have been unearthed. In the investigation of FIA, it was found that his family had done 17 thousand credit transactions.
