A prominent cosmetic surgeon of Mumbai has been granted anticipatory bail by the Sessions Court in the rape case of a 42-year-old television actress. In the year 2019 in August, a television actress had filed a rape case against the said cosmetic surgeon Dr. Viral Desai, accused of rape and the victim alleges that "On 9 August, Doctor Viral opened his clinic tried to sexually harass a television actress.

On the basis of this complaint, a case of rape was registered against Dr. Desai and at that time, Dr. Desai alleged that "the victim and he were in a relationship". Dr. Desai presented some photographs and WhatsApp chats before the court as evidence. At that time it was learned from him that he was in a relationship with the victim for the last few years and while hearing the bail plea of Dr. Desai in this case, Additional Sessions Judge Kalpana S. Hoare gave relief to Dr. Desai yesterday.

Dr. Desai's lawyer Parvez Memon told the court that, "The complainant actress is facing difficulties arising out of marriage." His divorce case is pending in the Family Court. In such a situation the relationship could not be based on the promise of marriage. Further, Memon said that" He is happy with the order of anticipatory bail passed by the court. This is the victory of truth over lies.
