Singapore Govt reveals 81 crores spent on Trump and Kim summit

World powerful leaders Kim Jong-Un and Donald Trump’s most awaited meeting summit was held on 12th June 2018. The first-ever meeting of United State of America and Democratic People's Republic of Korea’ presidents was held in Singapore’s Capella Hotel which was situated on the island of Sentosa.

Every nation was praising the event but the nation that suffered was the hosting country Singapore. In a report on Sunday, Singapore Government revealed that Rs 81 crores were spent on the secured and luxurious hosting of the summit. The officials of foreign ministry termed security as the major sector of expenses. However, the estimated cost that was assumed by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong was 100 crores.

Contrarily, Singaporean PM considered the summit as plus for their country and said: “It’s a contribution to an international endeavour which is in our profound.” “It is a cost that we are willing to pay”, he added.

Singapore is among those few countries that have subtle relationships with both USA and North Korea. For this, the PM told that “It(summit) give us publicity. The fact that we have been chosen as the site of the meeting, we did not ask for it, but we were asked and we agreed….Singapore’s relationship with the parties, with America, with North Korea, also our standing in the international community.”

Notably, in the meet, the leaders signed an agreement to deneutralized North Korea instead of which the USA promised to provide security facility to the nation.
