Guwahati: Recently the Cotton University Students' Union and Alumni Association decided to ban the entry of members of the ruling BJP, RSS and other organizations supporting the Citizenship Amendment bill on campus. On Sunday, students of Dibrugarh University announced that it would not allow any member, including Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, to enter the campus to protest against the controversial bill.

According to the sources, Rahul Bordoloi, general secretary of the Cotton University Students' Union, appealed to take a stand against the MLA and the controversial bill of all northern and other states in a joint press meet. At the meeting, the students' association and the alumni association banned the entry of members of the ruling BJP, RSS and any other organization supporting the bill introduced by them.

Jahan Bordoloi said that the student union opposes the CAB (citizenship law) and he will protest against it on 5 December. Demanding the withdrawal of the bill from Parliament, protest marches in the state capital and its representatives met some Assamese MLAs to seek support in their struggle against the bill. On Sunday, hundreds of students of Dibrugarh University took out a protest march against the bill on campus, stating that it would harm the anti-social community in the future.
