Country's first Ramayana circuit train leaves Delhi, 7500 km journey from Ayodhya to Rameswaram

New Delhi: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav shared the first glimpse of 'Shri Ramayana Yatra' on his Twitter on Sunday (7 November 2021). It is a rail circuit specially designed to promote religious tourism in ramayana related sites. According to the minister, the yatra started on Sunday with 100 per cent engagement. Vaishnav wrote in a tweet, 'Tremendous response! The first tour of 'Shri Ramayana Yatra' with 100 per cent people has begun on Sunday. The next visit to the Ramayana circuit is on December 12, 2021. Jai Jai Shri Ram. '

 

State that this deluxe AC tourist train left Delhi's Safdarjung railway station on 7th November for 16 nights and 17 days with 132 passengers present. Shri Ramayana Yatra has been launched by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) under 'Dekho Apna Desh' initiative to promote and facilitate religious tourism of rail circuits. The Ramayana Circuit Yatra was launched from Delhi's Safdarjung Railway Station on November 7. The 17-day visit includes several important places related to the life of Lord Ram including Ayodhya, Nandigram, Janakpur, Sitamarhi, Kashi, Prayag, Shringwerpur, Chitrakoot, Nashik, Hampi and Rameswaram.

 

The first stop of the yatra will be Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram, where pilgrims will be given darshan of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Shri Hanuman Temple and Bharat Mandir at Nandigram. The train will leave Ayodhya and go to Sitamarhi, where devotees will be able to visit Janaki Janaki Janma Sthal and Ram Janaki Temple in Janakpur, Nepal. The next stop of the train will be Baba Vishwanath's city Kashi. Devotees will be able to visit the site containing Sita including famous temples of Varanasi by buses from here. The train will then return to Delhi on the 17th day. During this period, the train will complete a journey of 7500 km.
