VIZAG: In a tragic incident, a couple died in a road accident just three days after their marriage. G. Venu (26) and Subhadra (23) died in the accident that occurred on February 13 night.

The 2-wheeler on which the couple was heading to Odisha was knocked down by a tractor on the Andhra-Odisha border. The newly-wedded couple was on their way to the house of Pravalika's parents, for the first time after the marriage.

At a ceremony performed at the Simhachalam temple in Vizag district on February 10, Venu, who works in a clothing store in the Itchapuram town of the Srikakulam district, and Subhadra, a resident of Berhampur in Odisha, became husband and wife. On February 12, they had a gathering at Itchapuram for family and friends.

The next day, Venu and Subhadra started for Berhampur on a motor bike.  The bride was happy while leaving for her first visit to parents' house after the wedding. 

The happy couple's fate, however, turned out to be unkind. A tractor struck the couple's car just as they were about to arrive in Berhampur. Subhadra passed away right away, while Venu, who was seriously hurt, passed away after being taken to a hospital in Berhampur.

The families of both the bride and the bridegroom plunged into a gloom. Parents and other family members who were waiting for Subhadra were horrified to hear about the couple's passing. At his Itchapuram home, Venu's mother and sister were inconsolable.
