More than half of the people of the world want the first child to be a son in their house. Most people want the birth of a son in their home, but there is a temple in the country where people go to ask for a vow to have a daughter, not a son. We are talking about Bokaro district of Jharkhand. There is a 170-year-old Durga temple in Chakulia village of Chas block, where hundreds of people come and ask for a vow to have a daughter.

Ghatasthapana is held here every year at the beginning of Durga Puja and a 150-year-old copper vessel is worshipped in this temple. People living here say, 'Even though people come to the temple throughout the year, the crowd in Navratri is quite high because hundreds of people come here to pray for a grand idol of Siddhidatri Durga in the wish of a daughter. On the other hand, if folklore is believed, a villager named Kalicharan Dubey prayed for a daughter here about 150 years ago and his wish was fulfilled. As soon as people came to know about this, slowly people started coming here.

After that, all wishes came true and seeing this it spread everywhere. Manoj Kumar, a villager, says, 'Every year many couples come here to vow for their daughter. Many of these people also have their wishes fulfilled and all villagers worship Durga with devotion and dedication here. It really is amazing.
