Unnao case: Court asks CBI to provide details of victim and her family's safety

NEW DELHI: The Tis Hazari Court in Delhi on Tuesday sought details from the CBI on the safety of the victim's family and her lawyer, their food and lodging arrangements. The court also asked the DG of UP to submit a report on the safety of witnesses in the case. At the same time, the court asked the accused whether they had any lawyers. If not, tell the court about it so that you can be provided with a lawyer.

It may be mentioned that eight other accused in the Unnao case were produced before the court today. Earlier, the accused MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar and Shashi Singh were produced. The court has sent him to Tihar jail till August 7. The Tis Hazari Court will debate the setting of charges on August 7. As of now, the documents pertaining to the case have not fully reached the court.

The lawyer of the Unnao rape victim, who was seriously injured in a road accident in Rae Bareli, has been airlifted to Delhi from Lucknow airport on Tuesday morning. The district administration had already completed its preparations and amid tight security, the victim's lawyer was brought to Amausi Airport from KGMU's Trauma Centre in Lucknow, where he has been airlifted to Delhi for better treatment.
