Varanasi: The controversy has deepened after the completion of the survey work at Gyanvapi Mosque. The Hindu side has claimed that a Shivling has been found in the mosque premises, while the Muslim side argues that it is not a Shivling but a fountain. It was heard in the Varanasi court today. At present, the court commissioner has sought two more days to submit the survey report, on which the decision can come late this evening. Meanwhile, court commissioner Ajay Mishra has been removed and the other two commissioners will submit a report in two days.

The matter is also being heard in the supreme court today. The hearing is being held on a petition filed by the mosque committee. The committee, in its petition filed in the apex court, has raised questions on conducting the survey itself. According to advocate Abhaynath Yadav, appearing for the Muslim side, the court commissioner has not submitted the report to the court and sought two days' time. He further said that the application made by the Hindu side is absolutely baseless. It has been said to measure Nandi's axis and break the wall, which is wrong. The argument for removing the debris is wrong and neither legal, this demand is against the religious place law. Which is for the court to decide to consider.

Abhaynath Yadav further said that it is claimed to be a Shivling, it is on the first floor, the Shivling does not swing in the air, and the Shivling is on the ground. Claiming a Shivling is the Hindu side's own idea. The report will decide whether there is a Shivling or not. The court has given time to file the objection, after which we will file our objection.
