Mumbai: Congress leader Hidayat Patel, accused in the murder of a BJP worker at Akola in Maharashtra, has been granted anticipatory bail by the Akot Sessions Court. Congress leader Hidayat Patel has been charged with the murder of Matin Patel, an activist of the BJP's minority sale. The Maharashtra Police, which is investigating the case, had registered an FIR against 10 others, including Hidayat Patel, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

According to sources, Hidayat Patel was trying his political kisnim from akola Lok Sabha seat in 2019. BJP candidate Sanjay Dhotre defeated Hirayad Patel in this election. His family had directly questioned Hidayat Patel for the murder of Matin.

According to sources, the incident took place on May 24 in Mohalla village of Akola. Prior to the incident, the BJP minority cell's 48-year-old executive Matin Patel and his brother-in-law had a dispute over the Lok Sabha elections.
