Olympic trials may be held against advisory of Sports Ministry in Pune

On Friday, the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has postponed the annual general meeting and elections to be held in Jaipur next month due to the growing threat of the Covid-19 epidemic. The AGM and elections were to be held from April 3 to 5. AFI said, "Due to the crisis arising out of the coronavirus epidemic, the executive and general annual meeting of the Indian Athletics Federation in Jaipur from April 3 to 5 has been postponed until further notice."

IWF directs IOC not to extend date of qualification

AFI President Adil Sumariwala said, "It has been decided to postpone the election of AFI along with the executive and general annual meeting in Jaipur on three, four and five April 2020." It said, "This decision has been taken in view of the sanctions imposed to prevent the spread of coronavirus because all our members will have to travel from different parts of the country. Members will be notified of the next date."
