New Delhi: Updates on COVID-19 in India: In the last 24 hours, India has seen 3,37,704 new instances of the novel coronavirus, including 488 deaths as a result of the infection. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Saturday (January 22), the country saw 2,42,676 discharges in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recovery rate to roughly 93.50 percent and total recoveries to 3,63,01 482.

According to government data released today, the total number of active COVID-19 cases in India has risen to 21,13,365. The country's total death toll today stands at 4,88,884. The first death from the COVID outbreak was recorded in India in March 2020.

In addition, the number of Omicron cases reached 10,050 on Saturday, up 3.69 percent from the previous day.  Today's daily positivity rate is 17.22 percent.  The total number of new COVID cases is reduced by 9,550 today compared to yesterday (January 21). On Friday, India reported 3,47,254 instances.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) reports that 71,34,99,892 samples have been tested for COVID-19 as of January 21. On Friday, 19,60,954 of these samples were examined.
