New Delhi: In the last 24 hours, India has recorded 9,283 new cases of the novel coronavirus, as well as 437 deaths from the infection. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday, the country had a total of 10,949 discharges in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recovery rate to roughly 98.33 percent, the highest since March 2020, and total recoveries to 3,39,57,698.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in India has dropped to 1,11,481 (the lowest in 537 days), according to government data released today. So date, the Nationwide Vaccination Drive has administered more than 118.44 crore vaccine doses. The country's total death toll today stands at 4,66,584. The first death from the COVID epidemic was recorded in India in March 2020.

Meanwhile, Kerala reported an increase in COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, with 4,972 infections and 370 deaths, bringing the total number of cases to 50,97,845 and the death toll to 38,045. After constantly maintaining a high number of infections over the past three months, the state saw a drop in cases on Monday, with 3,698 cases reported.
