New Delhi: India has recorded 11,466 new cases of the novel coronavirus In the last 24 hours, with 460 deaths as a result of the infection. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday, the country saw 11,961 discharges in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recovery rate to around 98.25 percent, the highest since March 2020, and total recoveries data to 3,37,87,047. According to ministry data, the number of active COVID-19 cases in India has dropped to 1,39,683, to bethe lowest in 264 days. The country's total death toll now stands at 4,61,849. The first death from the COVID pandemic was reported in India in March 2020.

Meanwhile, the state government of Kerala reported 6,409 new coronavirus infections and 384 deaths on Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases to 50,27,318 and the number of fatalities to 34,362. According to an official press release, 6,319 more people have recovered from the virus since Monday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 49,21,312 and the number of active cases to 71,020.

It said that 47 of the 384 deaths were reported in the last few days, and 337 were designated as COVID deaths after receiving appeals based on the Centre's new guidelines and Supreme Court orders. In the last 24 hours, 68,692 samples have been tested.
