Covid Roundup: India registers 21,257 fresh cases in past 24 hours

According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Friday, India registered 21,257 fresh cases of the Covid-19 in the past 24 hours. The total recovery rate stood at around 97.96 per cent, the highest since March 2020 and total recoveries to 3,32,25,221.

The total active cases of coronavirus in India declined to 2,40,221 the lowest In 205 days, the health ministry data indicated. Active cases account for less than 1% of total cases, currently, at 0.71%, lowest since March 2020. According to the ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research), 58,00,43,190 samples have been tested up to October 7th for COVID-19. Of these 13,85,706 samples were tested on Thursday.

Kerala Corona: In Southern State Kerla, it is reported that total of 12,288 people in the state tested Covid-19 positive after 99,312 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, officials said on Thursday.The test positivity rate was 12.37 per cent, said a statement from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The total number of active cases was 1,18,744 , of which 10.7 per cent were in hospitals, the statement said. Meanwhile, 141 deaths were also reported taking the overall death toll to 25,952. In terms of vaccination, 93.16 per cent of the 18-plus population have received their first dose, of which 43.14 per cent have got both the jabs.
