New Delhi: India reported 8,865 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest number in 287 days, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. India's active caseload now stands at 1,30,793, the lowest level in 525 days.  Active cases account for fewer than 1% of total cases in the country, and it is now at 0.38 percent, the lowest level since March 2020. The recovery rate is currently at 98.27 percent, the highest level since the outbreak began.

According to the Ministry of Health, the country has done around 62.57 crore overall tests. Meanwhile, the Nationwide Vaccination Drive has resulted in the administration of 112.97 corer vaccine doses.

Meanwhile, the threat of Covid-19 has been successfully contoained in three Karnataka districts. According to a Department of Health and Family Welfare health notice, there hasn't been a single Covid positive case reported in these three districts. Until Monday evening, the state has reported 7,912 positive cases. Bengaluru was responsible for 6,574 (83.08 percent) of the cases. In the remaining areas, a total of 1,338 Covid patients were being treated in hospitals or kept in home isolation.
