MOSCOW: , According to the Health Ministry official data released on Friday, Russia has reported another 12,505 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, the highest number of daily infections since February 22 . The total number of coronavirus cases in the country now stands at 5,180,454.

Meanwhile, Moscow, Russia's worst-hit region, reported 5,853 new cases, taking its total to 1,220,312.

The national Covid-19 death toll rose by 396 to 125,674 in the past day, while the number of the country's recoveries grew by 10,188 to 4,782,183. More than 141.9 million Covid-19 tests have been conducted across the country.

Global Covid Roundup: Globally, the other worst countries with over 3 million cases are Brazil (17,296,118), France (5,795,487), Turkey (5,319,359), the UK (4,566,891), Italy (4,241,760), Argentina (4,093,090), Spain (3,733,600), Germany (3,720,811), Colombia (3,694,707) and Iran (3,013,078), the CSSE figures showed. In terms of deaths, Brazil comes second with 484,235 fatalities.

Nations with a death toll of over 100,000 are India (363,079), Mexico (229,823), the UK (128,148), Italy (126,924), Russia (123,568) and France (110,506).
