Covid Snapshots: Kerala’s Active Covid Cases Jumped 12,000-mark in 10 Days

Kerala which is known as “God’s own Country’  registers 15,600new cases on Thursday even as test positivity rate goes up to 10.9%

The rise in COVID-19 cases in the State in the northern districts is beginning to show a steady trend, giving rise to apprehensions that the disease graph might go up again.

Giving accounts, the active caseload in Kerala was 96,012 on June 28, which shot up to nearly 1.08 lakh on July 7. Further, since July 5, the active caseload has increased by nearly 7,300 cases.

As per the data, the daily cases reported in Kerala have nearly multiplied since June 28. While the state reported 8,063 fresh cases on June 28, the daily cases on Wednesday increased to 15,600. The state has reported close to 1.23 lakh cases in the last 10 days. During the same period, more than 1.01 lakh people have also recovered.

ust when the second wave of the covid pandemic in the country seemed to be receding, Kerala’s active caseload increased by almost 12,000 cases in the last 10 days, data from state health department showed.

Meanwhile, India has reported 45,892 daily new cases in the last 24 hours. Less than 50,000 daily new cases have been reported since the past 11 continuous days. This is a result of the sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States/UTs, the ministry said.
