Andhra Pradesh: The festive season has arrived and experts have warned people against overconfidence and not following safety norms. The third wave is the biggest concern now, especially after the devastating second wave of the pandemic that claimed millions of lives. The death toll in Andhra Pradesh has risen to 14,295 with 9 new deaths in the last 24 hours. According to the new report, the total number of cases reported across the state is 20,59,708 with 586 fresh cases. Three deaths have been reported in Prakasam and Chittoor, two in Krishna and one in Nellore districts. On the other hand, 712 new patients were cured on Friday, taking the total number of recoveries to 20,38,960 and there are currently 6453 active cases.

Kurnool district recorded the lowest number of cases with five new cases in the last twenty four hours. While Chittoor district recorded 119 new infections, followed by East Godavari with 99 and Guntur with 89 new cases. Andhra Pradesh has so far conducted 2.89 Covid-19 tests across the state, which includes 44,946 tests in the last twenty four hours. Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh government has extended the night curfew till October 31 after reviewing the coronavirus cases. The curfew will be in force from 12 am to 6 am.

On the other hand, 16,862 fresh COVID-19 cases were registered in the last 24 hours across the country. At least 97.14 crore vaccine doses have been given in India. At least 19,391 people have been cured in the last 24 hours. The total number of people who have been cured is 3,33,82,100. The active caseload is 2,03,678, the lowest in 216 days. In the last 24 hours, about 379 people have died due to Kovid. During this period, the total vaccination is 30,26,483.
