Top UN officials have warned that the global pandemic coronavirus leads to discrimination and other human rights violations, which may further escalate conflicts. According to the information received, they said that "In the weakest countries of the world, the consequences of this discrimination can be more fatal than the effect of COVID19".

Rosemary DiCarlo, the political head of the United Nations, and Mark Lowcock, the head of humanitarian affairs of the United Nations, were involved in the vigil. He spoke to the United Nations Security Council on Wednesday about the serious problem of the worldwide impact of the pandemic. During this time Lowcock told the council and cautioned "I warned the SC today that inadequate political & economic action to address #COVID19 impact will lead to greater instability in fragile countries. International financial institutions need to take action now to prevent security&humanitarian crises ahead".

Apart from this, he went on to say that, "About a third of infections have been reported in countries suffering from humanitarian or refugee crises or in vulnerable countries, but how much these countries are actually affected by the pandemic is yet to be known". At this time more than 8,60,000 people have died worldwide and more than 26 million people are infected with it.
