Bangalore: On Saturday, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will preside over a meeting of an expert group to make a final decision on the easing of Covid-19 limitations in Karnataka.

According to sources, the meeting will discuss reopening schools, a 50-person limit in theatres, pubs, clubs, hotels, and restaurants, and a night curfew.

The administration met with the Covid-19 Technical Advisory Committee on Friday (TAC). The group has submitted the guidelines, which will be implemented beginning next Monday.

Despite the fact that the number of new Covid cases is higher in Bengaluru, rapid recoveries that outnumber positive cases may pave the road for the elimination of limits with minimal restrictions. On Friday, Karnataka had 31,198 new Covid cases compared to 71,092 discharges. On a single day, the Bengaluru Urban district registered 15,199 positive cases against 44,866 discharges. On a single day, fifty deaths were reported. For the day, the positivity rate was 20.91 percent, and the case fatality rate was 0.16 percent.

Last week, the Karnataka government lifted the weekend curfew and indicated that a decision on school reopening would be made on Saturday.According to the sources, the government supports the gradual opening of schools in Bengaluru. B.C. Nagesh, the Minister of Education, has already hinted at the reopening of schools, stating that the department is ready to begin courses.
