Germany's professional football will resume from May 16 and 18. With these two dates, two divisions of football leagues of the country will start.
According to the news agency, league union CEO Christian Seifert has said that the strategy to restart football does not include playing matches on Friday, but two rounds of matches will be played in a week.
The 50-year-old Seifert said, "We wanted to follow the terminology to be politically correct." All matches will be played without an audience. The season was halted in mid-March due to coronavirus. There are nine rounds left in the league as well as a postponed match. German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday gave the green signal to restart football with rules related to cleanliness and safety.
