'COVID-19 No Tolerance Week' to begin in Mizoram From January 24

According to an official release, the Mizoram government will hold a 'COVID-19 No Tolerance Week' from January 24 to January 31 to combat the growing number of COVID-19 cases in the state.

The existing standard operating procedure (SOP), which went into effect on January 8, and COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) will be strictly implemented throughout the no tolerance week, according to the statement. Concern authorities, police, and volunteers from village or local task teams have been requested to monitor whether COVID-19 protocols are strictly followed or not, according to the report.

On Friday, Mizoram reported 1,199 new COVID-19 cases, up 215 from the previous day, bringing the state's total to 1,57,253, according to a health department official. According to him, the death toll stands at 576 because no fresh fatalities have been reported in the recent 24 hours.

Fresh cases were found from 5,362 sample tests, yielding a single positive rate of 22.36 percent. The district of Aizawl had the most new instances, with 651, followed by Saitual (121) and Lungleo (120). (89).

 The number of active cases has risen to 8,495, with 852 persons recovering from the virus on Friday, bringing the total number of people who have recovered to 1,48,182. COVID-19 patients had a recovery rate of 94.23 percent and a mortality rate of 0.36 percent.COVID-19 has been tested on 16 lakh samples in the northeastern state thus far.
