Raigad: A case of shocking has recently come to light from a government hospital at Alibaug in Raigad district in Maharashtra. In fact, a 55-year-old patient undergoing covid-19 treatment here has allegedly attacked the doctor from the stand where the saline was offered. The doctor was reportedly repeatedly asking the patient not to remove the oxygen mask and the patient attacked the doctor in anger. Police informed the police last Thursday of the case.

He said the incident took place in the Covid-19 ward of Alibaug Civil Hospital last Wednesday morning. In this case, the police officer has also informed that Dr. Swapandeep Thalay sustained injuries in the attack and has been admitted for treatment. Police say the patient was undergoing treatment at the hospital for the past four days. The doctor on the round asked him not to remove the oxygen mask repeatedly. The doctor's instruction angered the patient. Then, when the doctor sat on the chair, the patient came from behind and attacked his head from the saline stand.

The injured doctor has been admitted to the same hospital after the incident. Now, in view of the entire case, the police have registered a case against the accused patient under Section 353 (forcibly restraining or assaulting a public servant from doing his duty) of the Indian Penal Code in the case. Now, talking about corona infection cases, Maharashtra has reported 8,010 new cases of coronavirus infection last Thursday. In addition, 7,391 patients have been discharged in the State and 170 people have died of the corona.
