New Delhi: According to Dr VK Paul, Member-Health, NITI Aayog, the precautionary COVID-19 vaccination dosage, which will be given to healthcare and frontline workers, as well as individuals over 60 years of age with co-morbidities, starting January 10, will be the same vaccine as the first two doses.

"The precautionary COVID-19 vaccination dose will be the same as previously administered. Those who have received Covaxin will continue to receive Covaxin, and those who have received Covishield's primary two doses will continue to receive Covishield "During a press conference held by the Union Health Ministry, Dr. Paul stated.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared on December 25 that from January 10 this year, healthcare and frontline personnel will be given a "precaution dose." On the recommendation of their doctors, senior adults with co-morbidities will be given the option of taking a preventive dose of COVID-19.

The COVID-19 vaccination drive in India began on January 16, 2021, and the total vaccine coverage has already surpassed 147.72 crore people.
