On April 20, India reported a further increase in infections, including almost 12,000 cases of Covid-19. As per data provided by the health ministry, 12,591 cases of Covid have been registered in India in the last 24 hours.
The Health Ministry reported 10,542 cases yesterday; the subsequent increase in cases occurred today. Currently, there are 65286 active cases in the country, or 0.14 percent of all cases.
The states of Kerala, Delhi, Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Rajasthan were mentioned during a high-level meeting on Wednesday to assess the situation with Covid-19 in the nation. These states are seeing a rapid increase in Covid -19 cases.
Death Roundup: 4 deaths were reported in Chhattisgarh, 5 in Delhi, 2 in Himachal Pradesh, 3 in Karnataka, 1 each in Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, and Punjab and six in Maharashtra, 2 in Rajasthan. In Kerala, two deaths were reported in the past 24 hours and 11 reconciled deaths were reported.
The state of the tests being performed in the nation was also emphasized, along with the unexpected rise in positivity. Within these eight states, a thorough overview of the ongoing cases was provided. It was emphasized that over 92% of the cases are being treated at home.
