Yes, you must have been shocked to hear that but it is true. In fact, in recent research, it has been found that corona virus has been found in animals like buffalo, cow and dogs. Not only this, it has also been said in the research that the risk of transmitting this virus from these infected animals to humans is less because the virus load in these animals is less.
Let us tell you that researchers from Kamdhenu University and Gujarat Biotechnology Research Center had taken samples from the nose and rectum from different areas of the state from horse to cow and buffalo. Yes and 24 percent of these animals were found positive and one dog was found to have a delta variant. At the same time, according to the report of a famous website, for the first time such research was done in India, in which it has come to the fore that even milch animals can be infected with this virus. In the earlier research, it was revealed that animals like cats, beavers were infected.
Let us also inform all of you that this research was sponsored by the Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission. The research data is now available online. In fact, for their research, researchers took nasal or rectal samples of 413 animals including 195 dogs, 64 cows, 42 horses, 41 goats, 39 buffaloes, 19 sheep, 6 cats, 6 camels and 1 monkey. All these samples were collected from Ahmedabad, Anand, Gandhinagar, Banaskantha, Patan, Kutch and Mehsana districts. After that the last samples were collected in March 2022. At the same time, it has been said in the research that the rectal samples had better results than the nasal samples. A total of 95 animals were found positive, including 67 dogs, 15 cows and 13 buffaloes. However, more information needs to be gathered about the cat species.
