New Delhi: This year, something new is being seen at Delhi University's Hansraj College. This is the Cow Protection and Research Centre. The centre, which has been set up under the name swami dayanand saraswati gau-samvardhan and research centre, has been started with a cow and according to principal Dr Rama, if this research proves to be useful and beneficial, it will be extended.  According to Dr Rama, the Centre will not only "research various aspects of the cow", but will also be given "pure milk and ghee" for students and the monthly "havan" (prayer ritual) from here.

According to media reports, he further said that our college is a DAV Trust College and its base is Arya Samaj. According to that tradition, we perform havan on the first day of every month, in which all teaching, non-teaching staff and students can participate. During that (havan), we congratulate all those people who also have their birthdays in that month. For this, we have to go to the market every month and buy the necessary items, such as pure ghee, to offer on the puja. But we can be self-sufficient in this now.

At present, this cow centre is located near the gate of the college adjacent to the men's hostel. But more such centers are yet to be built. Principal Dr Rama said the college is also working on a gobar gas plant, which may get support from the Centre. Along with this, we can do research on various aspects of the cow. Another idea is that when the hostel opens, the students will be able to get pure milk and curd.
