Under this instruction, the Veterinary Department has started making arrangements. Talking about this, the officials said, 'Coats will be made available for cattle in the state cowsheds. Cow shelters will also be covered with thick polythene curtains to protect the animals from the cold winds coming in winter.'

There are also reports that to keep the cows warm, arrangements have been made to make jute bags made of old jute bags. There are cow shelters for stray animals in rural areas. It is being looked after at these sites and is being fed. At present, 113 cow shelters are functional in Prayagraj district for animal care. Of these, 110 are temporary and 3 are permanent.

It is being told that about 13,000 cows are cared for in these Shelter Homes. The officials say that the veterinary department keeps a close watch on the health of cows and conducts regular medical check-ups and treatment of more than 13,000 cows in these shelters. Speaking to a website, Chief Veterinary Officer RP Rai said, “The District Supply Department will take jute bags from fair price shops and provide them to make covers and coats. Gram panchayats will make coats and cover cow shelters with polythene and other materials. Spending will meet from MNREGA budget. "
