Kochi: The ruling CPM in Kerala has expelled Christian activist PT Gilbert from the party. The party has taken action against his wife and son for opposing their forced conversions. A media report said he was a member of gilbert CPM's Nirolpal branch committee and complained of forced conversion to Islam. CPM activist Gilbert has alleged that the mastermind behind the conversion is panchayat member Nazira and Calicut University employee her husband Yunus. It is he who converted his wife and son to Islam.

Gilbert said the group also includes Kottiadeen Ismail, who operates a bakery nearby. In addition, Latif alias Kunjan, Shahul Hamid, Bushra and Kulsu are his neighbours. Gilbert said his wife worked in Ismail's bakery. One day as he was on his way to work, Muslim women from the neighbourhood came to his house. CPM activist said his wife had questioned him several times about ISIS a radical Islamic terrorist organization. According to reports, Gilbert met his wife and his son at 'Tarbiat', a religious centre in Kozhikode.

He says that looking at 'Tarbiyat' does not make him a part of Kerala. At the same time, he found men in pain after being circumcised there. Gilbert was not even allowed to meet his wife and son. Gilbert said he had asked his party for help to protect his wife and son from forcibly converting them into Muslims. However, soon after, the Malappuram District Committee of CPM issued a press release expeling him from the party. His membership has been cancelled in the name of anti-party activity.
