Jodhpur: Five gas cylinders exploded at a wedding in Rajasthan's Jodhpur district, triggering panic everywhere. At least 60 people, including the groom and his parents, suffered burn injuries in the accident. At the same time, four people died. The accident took place at 3.15 pm on Thursday at Bhungra village near Shergarh. There was a wedding ceremony in Takht Singh's house here, the marriage procession was about to leave the house when suddenly the cylinders exploded. The injured persons have been admitted to the hospital.

District Magistrate Himanshu Gupta rushed to the hospital after receiving the news of the incident. Dr. SN Medical College Principal Dilip Kachhawa said, "Out of 60 injured people, 51 have been admitted to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Jodhpur. Eight of them suffered more than 90 percent burns. 48 people are admitted to the ward and one child is in the ICU. Four people, including two children aged five and seven, succumbed to their injuries.''

At the same time, when this accident took place, baraatis were present in huge numbers. The injured persons were brought to Shergarh. From here, some persons have been referred to the burn unit of Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Jodhpur. Rural SP Anil Kayal said, "Five cylinders exploded. While cooking, there was a sudden leakage in a cylinder which caught fire. Due to this, 5 cylinders present nearby also caught fire and explosions started taking place. Around 100 people were present when the cylinder exploded. After receiving the news of the accident, the management of Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Jodhpur was alerted. At around 5.30 pm, there was an atmosphere of panic in the hospital due to the injured people who arrived one after the other. During the wedding program, women were sitting in a square of the hall and talking. During this, a cylinder exploded and fell on the woman. RCA president Vaibhav Gehlot and MLA Manisha Panwar and Shergarh MLA Meena Kanwar also reached the hospital after receiving the news of the incident.
