New Delhi: In view of the rising cases of corona infection, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is constantly brainstorming about the conduct of the next IPL. In such a situation, Cricket South Africa (CSA) has offered to hold the 2022 IPL in South Africa. According to media reports, an official of the African board has said that they have also placed a proposal before the BCCI to hold the IPL in their own country.

Cricket South Africa, which hosted the second season of the IPL in 2009, has made this offer in view of the popularity of the league. The second season of the IPL was held in South Africa due to the Lok Sabha elections in the country. Earlier, it was reported that the board wants to hold the next season of the IPL in India, but if any special situation arises due to the coronavirus, then you may have to go to South Africa or the UAE.

Due to Corona, the 13th season of the IPL (the year 2020) and the second leg of the 14th season (year 2021) were held in the UAE. Both seasons were played without spectators. The BCCI is also considering this proposal of Cricket South Africa. Earlier, the board had informed that most of the teams want to play this season in India. This season of IPL will start in the last week of March.
