Crime: A woman depressed over her family issues killed her daughter, committed suicide

On Friday, A heart wrenching incident reported from Bharat Nagar in Old Alwal.  Here it is to be noted that a woman allegedly killed her three-and-a-half-year-old daughter and later committed suicide in her house. She is suspected to have been depressed over family problems, the police said.

For your information let us share that the woman, identified as Bishnu Priya Giri (30), was married to Sudhendu Giri (40), both natives of Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, and the couple had moved to Hyderabad. According to the police, the couple was recently having frequent fights, due to which Priya was quite depressed. Police said that “There was no suicide note. We suspect she was depressed over family problems and resorted to the extreme step,”.

However, it is to be noted that  Giri, who works for a pharma company in Siddipet, went for work leaving Priya and their daughter at home. It was then that she is suspected to have killed the child first and then committed suicide. “She is suspected to have first killed their daughter by hanging her with a saree to the ceiling fan in the bedroom. She later died by hanging herself from the same ceiling fan,” police said, adding that Giri returned home and in finding them dead, immediately informed the Alwal police who have taken up the investigation. The bodies were shifted to the Gandhi Hospital morgue for autopsy.
