New Delhi: The team of Crime Branch is about to file a chargesheet in Delhi's Patiala Court against Sharijil Imam, accused of a seditious statement during a protest in Delhi's Shaheen Bagh against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Delhi Police will do this charge sheet under the UAPA Act. Please tell that former JNU student Sharjil Imam gave inflammatory speeches in Jamia and Aligarh.

Not only this, the team investigating the case came to know about Sharijil Imam that he had also distributed inflammatory posters in the areas around the mosque. This was revealed when the police investigated the laptop of Sharjeel Imam. Photos of all those posters were found from that. The Imam is in Guwahati Jail in a case related to UAPA lodged by Assam Police. The Lower Court on April 25 gave the investigating agency another 90 days to complete the investigation of the case as police said that the global epidemic coronavirus and lockdown had adversely affected the speed of the investigation.

The Imam was arrested from Jehanabad, Bihar on 28 January. He was involved in organizing protests in Shaheen Bagh. But he came into the limelight when in a video he was seen making objectionable remarks in a meeting at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). He was then charged with treason.
