Sonipat: Event of murder in Sonepat has emerged. The Imam and his wife were murdered in Manik Majri village of Sonipat. Both were sleeping in the room behind the mosque at the time of the incident. When people reached the mosque on Sunday morning, they came to know about the incident.

As soon as the news was received, DSP Head Quarters Jitendra Kumar and Gannaur Police Station Incharge Dinesh Kumar reached the spot with the team. Police called the FSL team to the spot and gathered evidence. Later, post mortem was done by taking the dead bodies in possession.

Police have registered a murder case against the unknown on the complaint of rural Khurshid. Irfan (38), originally a resident of Mohali, Panipat, was living in the mosque of Manik Majri village for four years. He was the Imam in the mosque. He along with his wife Yasmin alias Meena (24) lived in a room behind the mosque. Irfan read Azaan in the morning, but Irfan did not read Azaan on Sunday morning. Irfan was not found there when people from the community reached the mosque.

When he went to Irfan's room to see him, the bodies of Irfan and his wife Yasmin were lying there with blood. Blood was strewn everywhere in the room as well. He reported the matter to Harendra, sarpanch of village Ahulana. At which the police station was apprised of the Ganaur police.

After the information, DSP Head Quarters Jitendra Kumar and Ganaur Police Station Incharge Dinesh Kumar reached the spot along with the team and inspected the site of the incident by capturing the bodies. The team gathered evidence by calling the FSL team on the spot. Police sent the dead bodies to the hospital for postmortem. Police have registered a case of murder against the unknown on the statement of rural Khurshid. The matter is under investigation.
