Jammu: Police have busted a high-profile car theft gang. The gang also includes technicians and agents from the RTO office who later worked to build RCs. Five stolen vehicles have been recovered from different places. It includes a woman DSP's gypsy, which was stolen from Nanak Nagar in May. The gang has been busted by a team led by SHO Gurnam Singh Chaudhary of Gandhinagar Police.

SP South Vinay Kumar told a press conference on Thursday that the gang leader Tito Elias Karam Kumar is a resident of Harnam Nagar Batala (Punjab) who was currently residing in Ward No.13 Shastri Nagar Kathua. In the interrogation, the accused has confessed to the crime. The other accused include Ashwani Kumar resident Bishnah, Tajendra Singh resident Preet Nagar Digiana and Aftab Ahmed resident Srinagar. Aftab was currently living in a strainer dare. The interrogation is going on.

According to the police, the gang used to steal vehicles by planning. Each member of the gang was an expert in his work. The gang has tried twice to steal the gypsy of the female DSP. Once failed, the stolen Tata Indigo CS car was used to steal for the second time. Police have recovered the gypsy and the car from Kathua.
