Phagwara: A bank robbery incident has come to light in Punjab. The incident took place at the Punjab National Bank branch on Hoshiarpur Road in Phagwara, Punjab. The robbers escaped by robbing the currency of more than seven lakh 50 thousand rupees at gunpoint. As soon as the information was received, SSP Kapurthala Satinder Singh, SP Mandeep Singh, DSP Manjeet Singh reached the spot with the heavy police force. The dacoits came in a car. According to sources, Ravi Balachauria, a gangster, is on the radar of the police.

He has been identified by bank personnel from a photo shown by the police. Police is not confirming this but police teams are searching in Balachaur. Hoshiarpur Road Bank branch manager Sukhwinder Singh Mathadu said that at around 12 o'clock, suddenly some armed suspects entered the bank and fired a pistol at the cashier. They looted seven and a half lakh rupees and escaped.

At the time of the incident, 12 people including staff were present in the bank. The people there said that the robbers were five. First a robbery was filed, later the rest were filed. He kept the mobiles of all the customers who later threw them and escaped. Robbers also broke CCTV and DVR.
