Lucknow: In a joint operation with the Shahjahanpur police, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) nabbed three smugglers with 60 kilogrammes of 'charas' worth Rs 120 crore on the international market. They were found with sixty kg of charas.
The squad apprehended a black sedan at the RC Mission region on the Delhi-Lucknow National Highway after receiving a tip, and all three males in the car were detained in the early hours of Tuesday. Ram Bhulan and Sitaram from Bahraich district, as well as Shekhar Thapa from Dehradun, were recognised. The defendants stated police they had brought the drugs from Nepal and planned to smuggle them to numerous consumers in Delhi, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Punjab.
"The smugglers were on their way to deliver the shipment in Shamli district," S. Anand, Shahjahanpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), said. Other people participating in this fraud are being hunted down. The defendants were arrested and taken to the district jail under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act."
