Criminals fearless in Delhi! Miscreant stabbed ASI on duty, hospitalized

New Delhi: Criminals in the country's capital Delhi have now become so fearless that they are not missing out on attacking the police along with the common people. The latest case of attack on police has come to light in West Delhi's Moti Nagar area. An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Delhi Police was allegedly attacked and injured by a man with a knife late on Thursday night, police said. The attacker has been identified by the police and efforts are on to nab him.

According to the report, DCP (West) Vichitra Veer said that ASI Vikram Singh was on duty at a post under Zakhira flyover in West Delhi's Moti Nagar area. Around 1 am, they stopped a man after noticing "suspicious movement". He said that when the ASI was searching for the man, he stabbed Vikram Singh on his straight hand with a knife. ASI was injured in this attack, he was immediately taken to the hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.

The DCP said an FIR has been registered against the accused under Sections 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
