On the other hand, the government has taken important steps to make the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) engaged in taking the front from the terrorists in the Kashmir Valley and the Naxalites in many states. The Ministry of Home Affairs has approved more than 40 thousand light bulletproof jackets and more than 170 armored vehicles for the force.

Regarding this matter, officials said that 80 Maruti Gypsies have been provided to CRPF. Safety measures have been enhanced within them by re-fabricating. These vehicles can withstand a range of bullets and grenade attacks and stones. A senior official said that a total of 176 medium bulletproof vehicles have been provided, which have a seating capacity of 5-6 people. These vehicles will be provided to CRPF units of terror affected and Naxalite affected areas.

In the course of carrying forward the work of modernization of CRPF, the government has approved 42,000 light bulletproof jackets. These jackets also provide protection to other important parts of the body besides the chest and neck. Their weight is also 40 percent less than the old jacket. The old jackets were of 7-8 kg. Significantly, 70 battalions of CRPF with a capacity of 3.25 lakh are currently deployed in Kashmir Valley and 90 units in Naxalite affected states. A battalion consists of about 1,000 soldiers. In addition, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has constituted a committee of its senior officers to suggest measures to maintain physical distance in toilets and barracks to prevent the spread of corona infection in the force.
