Lucknow: A CRPF jawan, who was on election duty in Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh, shot himself with a rifle on duty. Due to which he died on the spot. Hearing the sound of bullets and seeing the jawan bleeding, there was panic among the other jawans and officers. The police of Chakia Kotwali, who reached the spot, took possession of the body and kept it in the district hospital for post-mortem.

The company of Alpha 08 Orissa Battalion of CRPF is staying at SRBS School located in Shikarganj, Chakia Kotwali. The company is responsible for conducting assembly elections. With this company, 38-year-old Vipin Das of Coonoor district of Kerala province posted in CRPF also came. After eating all the jawans were sleeping in the barracks. Meanwhile, people were stunned to hear the sound of a sudden gunshot.

When other jawans approached Vipin Das, blood was oozing from his head and his INSAS rifle and an empty bullet were lying beside him. After this the officers informed the local police. However, in this matter, the officers of CRPF are refraining from saying anything. Everyone is shocked by the jawan committing suicide by shooting himself. At the same time, the police has started investigating the matter.
