New Delhi: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah lauded the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Wednesday for its unique contribution to the country's security. Shah made the remarks while greeting CRPF troops on the occasion of the paramilitary force's Raising Day.

Taking Twitter to convey his admiration for the force, shah wrote "With its valour, the CRPF has not only made a unique contribution to keeping the country's security intact, but it has also built a wonderful history of valour, which every Indian is proud of," Shah said.  I congratulate the CRPF Jawans on Raising Day and salute their devotion and dedication to the Nation," Shah added.

The CRPF is one of the country's seven Central Armed Police Forces, working under the Ministry of Home Affairs. The force was set up on July 27, 1939, as the Crown Representative Police. After Independence, this force was renamed as  "Central Reserve Police Force" by an Act of Parliament on December 28, 1949.

On the occasion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPFraising )'s day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his greetings to all CRPF troops. PM Modi stated that the force has "meritorious itself for its uncompromising courage and distinguished service," adding that its role is "commendable."
"Happy Raising Day to all CRPF personnel and their families. This force is known for its unwavering courage and remarkable service. The CRPF's participation in resolving security and humanitarian concerns is laudable "PM Modi made the message on Twitter.

On the occasion of the CRPF's 83rd Raising Day, BJP national president JP Nadda conveyed his wishes. "On this Raising Day, I extend my best wishes to all CRPF members and their families. The entire nation is proud of the CRPF's bravery and sacrifice. Jai Hind," he tweeted.
