The global crypto market capitalisation increased 1.03 percent to USD1.30 trillion on May 18, with most cryptocurrencies trading in the green. The overall crypto market volume, on the other hand, fell 11.37 percent to USD77.48 billion in the last 24 hours.
The overall volume in DeFi was USD7.67 billion, accounting for 9.90 percent of the entire 24-hour volume in the crypto market. The overall volume of all stable coins was USD67.51 billion, accounting for 87.13 percent of the total 24-hour volume of the crypto market.
The price of bitcoin was Rs 24.52 lakh. According to CoinMarketCap data, the world's largest cryptocurrency's dominance fell by 0.14 percent to 44.23 percent in the last day.
In other news, despite the crypto market's collapse, Nasdaq-listed crypto exchange Coinbase has announced that it will suspend hiring and reassess its workforce needs against its highest-priority business goals.
The worldwide crypto markets are still gloomy, owing to widespread "severe fear." Bitcoin's price has dropped below USD30,000 once more.
