NEW DELHI: Admit cards to candidates who would appear for the IInd phase of CUET examination (Common University Entrance Test ) scheduled to begin on August 4 were issued on Monday, an official said.

The CUET exam must now be passed in order to apply for admission to colleges connected to central universities this year. This programme includes all of the central universities, including Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Jamia Millia Islamia, and Banaras Hindu University.

The number of applicants likely to take the tests is over seven lakh. The testing locations have been relocated at the request of several candidates who live in flood-affected areas.

M. Jagadesh Kumar, the chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), claimed that every attempt had been taken to get candidates to show up for the exam in the centres of their choice.

Before downloading the admit card, candiates must choose the exam centres of their choosing.  The National Testing Agency (NTA) predicted that all candidates would receive their admit cards over the next few days.

According to the NTA, some candidates had trouble downloading their admit cards because of "high traffic" on the website. For those seeking admission to undergraduate programmes, the CUET is being offered.

Both inside and outside the nation, 14,90,000 candidates have enrolled for CUET. Approximately 8,10,000 people showed up for the exam's first part, which began on July 15. Students who pass this exam, according to the UGC, would be regarded eligible for admission to 43 central universities among the 90 other universities. About 554 centres in India and 10 centres outside of the nation are hosting these tests.
