Jaipur: The attackers looted cash of Rs 31.55 lakh by shooting a security guard of a cash van outside ICICI Bank in Rajasthan capital Jaipur at around 2.15 pm on Saturday. The masked robbers arrived in the luxury car on the spot. The incident occurred in the Mansarovar area of Jaipur in public.
While giving information, SHO Khalil Ahmad Khilji of Shipra Path Police Station said that four attackers from the car fired indiscriminately on the security guards of the bank. Two guards were injured in this firing. He said that the bank guards also fired on the attackers. In this firing, the rear glass of the attackers' car was struck. Khilji told the media that the injured guard was taken to a private hospital nearby for treatment and his condition is said to be stable.
Police said that the robbers managed to escape from the spot by taking Rs 31.55 lakh from a cash van parked outside the bank. Additional Commissioner of Police Ajay Pal Lamba and other senior police officers rushed to the spot to inspect the situation. Police said that teams have been formed to arrest the accused with the help of footage from CCTV cameras installed in the surrounding areas and are being pressed into place.
