NEW DELHI: Assam Day will be observed in New Delhi on Wednesday, November 22 at the ongoing 42nd India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2023 at the Pragati Maidan. Assam's Minister for Industries and Commerce, Public Enterprises and Cultural Affairs, Bimal Borah, will be the chief guest at the function.

 The esteemed guest for the occasion will be Assam's Minister for Industries and Commerce, Public Enterprises, and Cultural Affairs, Bimal Borah.

A diverse array of programs is scheduled, showcasing the rich cultural tapestry and diversity of Assam at one of the amphitheatres. The festivities will feature captivating performances including the Satriya dance, Jhumur dance, Hajong, Bihu dance, and music exhibitions by esteemed artists like Bhrigu Kashyap and Ridip Rankit.

The Assam Pavilion, a dedicated space within the fairgrounds, stands as a testament to the state's cultural opulence and offerings. Launched on November 14 by the Additional Chief Secretary of Industries and Commerce, Ravi Kota, the pavilion encapsulates Assam's rich heritage. Among its highlights are government initiatives such as One District One Product, GI products like Assam Lemon, Gamusa, Muga silk, complemented by traditional Assamese attire, and platforms promoting initiatives like Ease of Doing Business and Assam Start-Up.

Hosting five government departments or PSUs, 32 MSME units, and two start-ups, the Assam Pavilion serves as a bustling hub of activity and innovation.

Under the overarching theme of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam - United by Trade,' this year's India International Trade Fair will conclude on November 27 after a two-week-long celebration of diverse cultures and economic exchange.
