Gujarat: Curfew in three cities extends till April 24 due to lockdown

AHMEDABAD: Curfew imposed in 3 metros of Gujarat to prevent further spread of corona infection has been extended till April 24. These metros include Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Surat. These are the cities with the most patients. The number of Corona-infected people is increasing in these cities. Therefore, it has been decided by the police-administration that there will be no relaxation here.

Gujarat DGP Shivanand Jha said on Tuesday that, we urge people to stay in their homes, leave wearing masks when exempted. Also, take full care of social distancing. Those who violate lockdown, social distancing or curfew will be caught and strict legal action will be taken against them. People who are going out of curfew in various cities of the state are constantly being monitored and action is being taken.

The DGP has reported that, 142 people have been arrested in Ahmedabad. Apart from this, 104 people have been arrested in Surat in crime and 52 in Rajkot crime so far. He said that in order to get control of the infection in these metros, there was a meeting of high officials under the chairmanship of CM Vijay Rupani to extend the curfew period. It was then envisaged that the curfew be extended by 24 April.
