Customer stripped and thrashed by Pub staff, videos goes viral

Mumbai: Police on Wednesday arrested waiter of a pub for allegedly stripping and beating customer. Chembur Police registered the case following a complaint by the victim after a video of the assault went viral on social media.

In the viral video, three men including the waiter, manager, and owner of the pub can be seen assaulting 45-year-old customer. Police officials familiar with the matter said that the incident took place at the Raj Punjab Bar on Sion-Trombay Road on February 16.  The customer who is a regular at the bar had an argument with the establishment's staff over recording videos inside the bar using his cell phone which resulted in them take away his cell phone.

The accused have been identified as Aziz Ansari who is waiter, manager Jagdish Shetty and bar owner Sukhdev Patil. They allegedly thrashed the man when he returned to the bar on Sunday night to take back his cell phone. The complainant was stripped and thrashed by the accused. While the waiter in question was arrested on Wednesday, the other two accused continue to be at large.
